Handcraft and complete a longbow of beautiful and rugged Osage Orange, the bow wood that has often been the first choice of North American harsh use bowhunters and field archers. Osage bows thrive in the rough conditions a bow must endure in wilderness use.

Traditional Self Osage Longbow crafting Instructional Workshops offered by Pacific Yew, Inc. at our shop and classroom site, 31604 SE Redmond-Fall City Rd., Fall City, Washington and conducted by Jay St. Charles, bowyer.

Mr. St. Charles, a full time working bowyer for over 15 years, has been conducting longbow crafting workshops since 1995 - with over 500 successful students in participation. A second generation yew bowyer and longtime student of the art, Jay is able translate his knowledge of the past into an enjoyable high content workshop experience.

The bows are self-backed in North American semi-flat style with horn tip overlays and crafted over three very full days - Friday, Saturday, Sunday. In the course of this all hands-on workshop, learn how optimize billet layout, effective splicing and gluing, bow layout, teaching your stave to bend, fine tillering with hand tools, reaching fine tiller in the irregular limb. Intended as a "jump-start" to crafting your own fine osage orange longbows. All materials supplied.
